A direct artwork using raw canvas and Velcro to show how life's transitions become gentler as we grow older
This piece introduces an aged, evolved reinterpretation of the traditional "zip art" genre.
The Concept: Swapping a mechanical zip for an unvarnished strip of raw canvas and Velcro, symbolizing how life's transitions become less rigid and more organic as we age.
The Reveal: The heavy canvas layer folds back to uncover overlapping fragments of gold leaf and textured landscapes underneath.
The Narrative: A reflection on uncovering the hidden layers of identity built up over decades, using a physical mechanism to peel back time.
